’Siop iard’ expanded in July 2015, and I was privileged to be asked to join their exciting new venture; the opening of Siop iard Pwllheli. The shop is located at Number 13, Gaol Street, a stone’s throw from the High Street.
I share the responsibility of running the shop from day to day with two other young designer-makers; Charlotte Bellis and Hanna Liz, as well as sharing the little workshop at the rear of the shop. There’s work from all six of us on display in Pwllheli; Angela Evans, Ann Catrin, Dave Stephen, Charlotte Bellis, Hanna Liz and myself.
The Pwllheli branch oozes a fresh chicness from its white washed walls, dotted with numerous wall cabinets, each displaying tempting treasures. The long, low shop area creates a sophisticated, intimate atmosphere for comfortable browsing, while the little workshop at the back is a compact reminder that each piece on sale is entirely handmade by us, the makers.
